Special Rules For Pre-April 2019 Vehicles

How Old-Vehicle Booking Differs?

Plates usually take 7 to 15 days to reach the dealer. The actual physical installation takes less than 15 minutes.

You pick the slot during the initial payment. If you cannot make it, log back into the portal, click “Reschedule Appointment,” and choose a new date.

What To Do If The Plate Is Delayed

Keep a printout of your payment receipt in your vehicle. If the traffic police stop you after the deadline, showing a valid booking receipt proves you have already applied and can help you avoid the challan.

If a minor accident dents your plate, you need to replace it. A damaged HSRP cannot be repaired by local mechanics. If the plate snaps, it loses its structural integrity. You must visit the booking portal and select the replacement option.

If someone steals your plate, immediately file an FIR at your local police station. You will need to upload this FIR copy to the portal to order a replacement.

If you buy a used car and the previous owner damaged the HSRP, you can apply for a new one once the RC transfer is complete.
