It is mandatory when you want to transfer car registration, shift states with a bike, or sell a vehicle outside your RTO’s limits. The Parivahan NOC page provides the official format.

Exactly when do you require a NOC for vehicle ownership and transfer? Good questions. Let us list out the instances:

• Inter-state transfer (moving car/bike permanently to another state).
• Selling or gifting a vehicle to someone in a different RTO/state.

Applying for Parivahan NOC online is as straightforward as can be. All you have to do is follow these steps:

1. Visit Parivahan/Vahan Online Services → Vehicle Related Services.
2. Select “Apply for No Objection Certificate (NOC).”
3. Enter the vehicle registration number and the last 5 digits of the chassis number to validate.
4. Fill in the applicant details, reason (sale/inter-state transfer), and new RTO details.
5. Upload required documents: RC, ID/address proof, insurance, PUC, bank NOC if applicable.
